Have you ever dreamed of the lead part in a musical? Or maybe a play? Are you a complete beginner and want to try something new? Maybe you keep getting passed up for that lead role and you want to step up your acting game? Whatever the story, our stage acting courses will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence to blossom as an actor and help you learn how to become your character, rather than just reading for them.

What you’ll learn

  • Stagecraft

    Learn the fundamentals of stagecraft, including stage presence, blocking, the different types of stages and how to work on them to deliver the best experience for your audiences.

  • Characters

    Learn how to create and build believable characters and worlds, and learn the psychology and emotion behind everyday characters. We will teach you techniques to help you really get to know your character.

  • Performing

    Learn physical techniques to build confidence and express yourself on stage. Every good actor must learn how to express themselves, before they can start to express their characters.

  • Technique

    Learn all about the different techniques used by professional stage actors to bring their characters to life and create believable and compelling worlds on the stage.

  • Speech

    We will teach you tips and tricks to help you clearly deliver scenes and monologues on stage, including annunciation, projection, confidence in speaking, and how to channel emotion and energy into each and every word.

  • Health

    Arguably the most important part of being an actor, is learning how to keep yourself and your voice healthy and show ready. As a professional actor, if you’re sick, you’re not earning, so you need to stay healthy.

Course Levels

  • Course Overview:
    The Beginner Stage Acting course is designed to introduce adults to the fundamentals of acting, focusing on stage rather than screen. Across 12 weeks, students will learn basic techniques for voice, movement, characterisation, and scene work. This course is highly interactive, building confidence through improvisation, articulation, and collaborative exercises. Students will gain a solid grounding in acting terminology, scene analysis, and emotional connection, preparing them for more advanced levels.

    Key Focus:

    • Foundational acting techniques, including voice projection and movement.

    • Introduction to character development and basic scene work.

    • Building confidence in stage presence and working with others.

  • Course Overview:
    The Intermediate Stage Acting course builds upon foundational acting skills, aimed at adults who have completed the beginner level or have prior acting experience. This 12-week course delves into advanced characterisation, scene analysis, and emotional authenticity. Students will focus on diction, stage dynamics, and complex scene work, using improvisation and text analysis to bring depth to their performances. The course prepares students for polished performances with a strong emphasis on stage presence and emotional connection.

    Key Focus:

    • Advanced characterisation, emotional depth, and scene work.

    • Techniques for stage dynamics, voice modulation, and improvisation.

    • Enhancing storytelling and performance confidence.

  • Beginner Stage Acting

    Starting Feb 2025

    7:00-9:00PM

    We have our very first beginner stage acting course beginning towards the end of Feb 2025 (date TBA). This will be a 12 week course teach your the fundamentals of stage acting, what it is to be a stage actor, and some basic character work.

    The cost for this 12 week course is £220 per student

  • Intermediate Stage Acting

    Starting Feb 2025

    7:00-9:00PM

    Our first intermediate stage acting course begins towards the end of Feb 2025. This 12 week course will cover contemporary approaches to acting, more in-depth character development, as well as develop your own confidence on stage.

    The cost for this 12 week course is £260 per student.

  • Courses run throughout the year. Check our ‘Upcoming’ section for latest courses, or use the calendar in the course page to see when the next course begins.

  • No, We do not accept late enrolments for our courses, as this would disrupt the learning of the other students. Enrolment closes 1 week before ‘Week 1’ of each course, so if the course has already begun, you will have to wait until the next course to book on.

  • Each course has a different cost as each course involves different resources and skills from the teachers. The best way to find out how much a course costs is to look at the course details page. The cost should be listed on there.

  • We try to cater to all levels, beginner to advanced. We do this by hosting different levels of each course. For our first courses, we will only be running ‘Beginner’ level. As the first round of beginner courses finishes, we will open up our ‘Intermediate’ courses for the beginners to transition to, and for more experienced students to join as well. The same is the case for ‘Advanced’ level courses.

  • We have different teachers for different levels. We will tell you more about your teacher when you make an enquiry, including what they will teach you and a little about their background.

  • There is no upper age limit for our courses, but we do have to have a minimum age limit of 16 years old, due to safeguarding and child protection requirements. Whilst all of our staff and teachers are DBS checked, we cannot guarantee whether other adult students are.
